If the developer of the proposed Granby Tower fails to find funding, what should go in its place?

Park?

For all those people voting for a park, I suggest you go to Lafayette Park or Northside Park on a Saturday afternoon. After your visit, you might want to rethink your "park" vote.

Light rail

Why not build a high-rise light rail station? First 5 floors can be the new offices of TRT/HRT/whoevertheyarethisweek, and the staion can be on the top floor.
Hey, this makes as much sense as the whole light rail boondoggle.

Family entertainment center

I think the area should be developed into a family entertainment area. All businesses or services would be geared toward families.

It could be the new Festival Market Place instead of Waterside.

Activites could include bowling, video game rooms, family friendly restaurants, and even a place for plays and concerts that are family friendly.

A Harry's barb'que!

the best form of vindication - Ask Harry's to Build there he's been put through the ringer by the city since they forced his relocation from the downtown plaza for the 'new' fire station. - then he relocates to granby st. only to be priced out of his location by the greedy landlord - then he opens jazz on tazewell and his patron capacity is diminished when he loose's the back exit to that baldwin steak place rear handicapped ramp enttrance, and then with harry's let's pursue another doumar's drive in diner - wouldn't that be the cat's meow - cool - and keep the city out of it as much as possible -

park

Although there are several good ideas such as a park, an extention to the courthouse or even a parking lot, my favorite is submitted by ggriggs, a burial site......Too Funny :-)

Let's put the biggest, talliest, most hugest, SEWER VENT!

Granby Towers

You forgot"Who Cares!"

Do the Feds still want if for a courthouse?

Remember back when this project was announced and the federal courts started whining that they needed the space to expand the courthouse building across the street? How about we just sell it back to them, for half the original price or whatever it's worth now?

A new developer with

A new developer with financing should be found to develop a similar residence/office/hotel/multi-use building in that location.
