This might be an interesting poll if it had any value or "teeth". Riddick is solid in his ward and will not be voted out.... no matter what anyone says about him. Quite simply, he doesn't care what people who aren't his voters think.

I was kind of liking Andy lately, but am very disappointed in his comment that "I'm not going to put my ethical or moral beliefs on somebody I sit next to." These aren't merely ethical or moral beliefs. He has clearly broken the law!!! I fear the council members are more worried about appearing racist than doing the right thing. That is a true politician. It doesn't matter the color of the person - we are past that. Did he do wrong or right? Man/woman up, Norfolk City Council!

As Councilman Tommy Smigiel states he was hoping for guidance from the seasoned council members.
Smigiel admits to being naive, my opinion is that it shows with his short sited impulsiveness wanting to censure RIddick.

Who else other then RIddick on our Council truly speak on behalf of the very real on going challenges and destitution the poor in our city face on a daily bases ?

I believe RIddick's record clearly illustrates he is consistently the only council member at times taking a supportive stance for such a large under-served population in our city as the poor.

What part of real down right destitution do the readers of the Pilot not fully understand with clear comprehension ? and other words , who actually lives in our very poor communities other then the poor.
So perhaps they do not have the time to locate a computer or make a comment on line or otherwise.
They get out to vote though for their own survival, to re-elect RIddick as they should.
