Should Portsmouth have denied the bonds for Sen. Louise Lucas' proposed hotel and conference center?

Deal with it?

Oh, rest assured, we'll deal with it. Come election time, when the "honorable" Mayor Holly is not re-elected, we will have dealt with it quite effectively. Assuming, of course, he's not tossed out on his discriminatory derriere way before then...

Lucas Scam attempt

I will remember the comments of both Heretick and our racist mayor, and will vote against both in their next election attempt. Thank goodness we have council men and women who are not afraid to do the right thing and vote against the Lucas Scam attempt.

P-town Hotel Proposal

I thought all hotels are Red and houses Green. Doesn't anyone play Monopoly?

Elect Bill Moody mayor

I went to school at Western Branch with Bill Moody too and he shows good judgement and we are lucky to have him represent the citizens of Portsmouth because he is NOT a racist like Holley. Let us put Billy in the mayor's office!

The Truth Was Spoken

The Mayor only spoke the truth. Deal with it.....

Citizens of Portsmouth embarrassed by Mayor Holley's Comments

I was hurt by Mayor Holley's comments last night, but not as much as the citizens and merchants of Portsmouth were embarrassed and humiliated by such careless comments. This city has come so far in the past 10 years with forethought and follow through of carefully studied plans to enhance the look and quality of life of all of its' citizens. I have always been a cheerleader of the city and have invited people to give our town a chance. Many have, but I don't know how much damage control it will take to erase the memory of the Mayors remarks. The citizens of Portsmouth deserve better.

The mayor needs to be a package deal with the bond issue

And while they are denying the bond, they need to remove, forcibly, the mayor of Portsmouth for his blatant racist remarks. That guy needs to be not voted out, but thrown out with all the physical force that the people can muster. We do not need people like him in positions of leadership...ever. Apparently this is his second go around in the politics of the city.

I grew up and went to school

I grew up and went to school with Bill Moody...good for him for looking out for the citizens of Portsmouth.

I was comfortable with Holley until I read his take on "Black" and White" hotels. It's time for him to leave and maybe a special "no confidence" vote is in order here. Now I know where he truly stands and it's not for the good of the city.
