War mem.

As long as they are in a "combat zone" and in "harm's way" then they should be listed.

Names

This is NOT a comic subject, however "justanotheruser" has made me laugh out loud for the first time in a long time...........Thanks

War Zone Deaths

My only comment is - The last three contributors said it all. I thoroughly agree with them.

Virginia War Memorial

Any member of the armed services who is in a war zone and is receiving hazardous duty pay or something to that effect should be on the memorial if they are fatally wounded. No brainer here!

War Zone only

I believe it should be reserved to those who died in a combat zone or as a result of combat action. I don't want the guy or gal who died as a result of an self indiced DUI, etc.

Killed by hostile fire

They are in a hostile war zone serving their country. They should be honored by the Virginia War Memorial regardless how they died. WAKE UP!!!

poll question

Another example of fine writing by professional journalists:

"Should soldiers who are not killed during hostile actions still be named on the Virginia War Memorial? "

Sure. I was a Soldier and I was not killed during hostile actions. Add my name, please.

Maybe a better question would be "Should members of the military killed by non-hostile action in a combat zone be named on the Virginia War Memorial?" (But what do I know? I'm not a professional.)
