Should Va. Beach's Circuit Court automatically seal the names of jurors deciding criminal cases?

Should be open
I can understand a desire to protect the safety and confidentiality of jurors in some high profile criminal cases. But at the same time, one of the hallmarks of America's justice system is its openness.
Court proceedings are public matters, open to most anyone who cares to wander in and watch or listen (except for when they involve juveniles). Concealing the names of jurors contradicts this transparency. Besides, jurors can easily be recognized in the courtroom.
If you were the person being prosecuted, would you want your jury of peers to be unknown? I doubt it. [Presuming your innocence] You'd want everything to be open and out for all to see.
Each juror should be given a number during wadir...
and that way no lawyer has their names. Ethnicity can be communicated by a name and could bias the attorney's questions anyway. Justice is supposed to be blind.
Futile
Sealing jurors names would be futile. Judges and trial lawyers record those names as jurors are questioned and seated.
Seal Jurors Names - AUTOMATICALLY?
NO; Seal jurors names only if there is, in a specific case, concern for the safety of jurors. If automatically sealed, juror misconduct would be hard to discover and prosecute, making a fair trial for the defendant defunct at best.
hhhmmmm
Reporters' sources should be protected but citizens doing their civic duty should have to run the risk of being exposed in this age of Google everything.....I think not.
