Poll Question

Should Virginia require that women undergo ultrasound imaging prior to having an abortion?

Pre abortion ultrasound

I question the use of the vaginal probe, unless it gives the best image, but believe in pre-abortion counseling and testing. I have had this type of ultrasound and it was neither painful nor invasive. There is a lie that abortion is simply a procedure or removal of a blob. This is life and it can be demonstrated that following through has profound physical and psychological consequences on the mother and perhaps anyone else involved.

The Governor might be responding to the organized two-pronged lobbying effort, but I would prefer to live in a state that truly supports life especially as Roe V Wade is considered settled law and abortions are legal. This law would support truly informed consent, especially for the young

abortion

Ron Paul is the only candidate who does not think the federal government should be involved in this.

Republicans come to their senses?

You have to love Republicans. They rail about the reach of government and then go out and attempt to pass THE MOST obtrusive and invasive laws where they would have the government stick a probe in a woman's vagina and force all folks who receive a benefit from the government to provide bodily fluids WITHOUT due cause. Would hope they would come to their senses but alas this is Virginia and common sense and Republicans are mutually exclusive terms. Go ahead, pass them and let the activist courts rule them unconstitutional. Like I said, you gotta love em.

Gov should butt out!

I oppose abortion.

But THIS is so far from a proper use of government!

Good grief!

Enough already!!!

Government fails to understand what it's role is - and especially what it's role is NOT.

This is NOT any of the government's business.

Unnecessary

that is what this ultra sound would be. An added cost to the person or her insurance company. How soon will it be that the insurance companies will disallow this ultra sound because it is required before a woman can have the abortion that she wants to have. Then what. Will she not be allowed to have the abortion because she cannot pay for an ultra sound? How many of these women will then either go to a back street clinic or go out of state for her abortion?

The GOPers should have just

The GOPers should have just taxed abortions. That's what this amounts too.

rectal exam for men

a rectal exam for men who take medicine for erectile dysfunction makes more sense.

THE TRUE OBJECTIVE

If you do the history on abortion itself...it was never about a woman's right to choose.and once again..its not about a woman's right to choose. Abortion is and always was about population control..check the history. Nothing has changed.

Next to be outlawed; Birth Control

Mississippi has legislation as do other states that will ban certain birth control methods such as intra uterine devices, RU86 and if they follow religious law no more condoms or birth control pills. The state will make ALL decision, not the mother or father.

WRong

Mississippi voters overwhelmingly voted down its personhood amendment. Even the reddest of the red states refused to expand government's role in personal privacy matters by soundly defeating the amendment.
