What do you think should be done about the military's 'don't ask, don't tell' policy?

Gays in the Military

Hey,
Why not? If they can be congressmen/women, governors, pastors, teachers, movie stars, childcare providers, governors, newspaper editors, and yes, even president, heck, why not?

RE: don't ask don't tell

"From the amount of people processed out I would say that it is working. The only ones not agreeing are Gays. I dont understand why they cannot go along with this program. They know what the rules are before they join the military, so if they cannot abide by them, DON'T JOIN."

You are sadly mistaken. I'm not gay, and I think the whole thing stinks. And what if the only people complaing were gays? Hate to tell you, but they are just as dedicated at protecting our county as any hetero, and they have the same right to serve as any hetero.
As I see it the the only people who want to keep gays in the closet are the ones with all the bias and prejudice.

to each their own

as long as your defending our country who cares what you sexal preference hey mind YOUR OWN BUISNESS if it makes you happy then do it and thank you for defending our freedom ......ALL OUR FREEDOMS

They are putting their lives on the line for our country

I think the sexual orientation of a soldier (male or female) issue should be irrelevant. I, myself, am not gay, but I respect anyone who is true to themselves and if they want to serve their (and our) country, I think they should be allowed to without having to hide who they are.

Dont Ask Dont tell

From the amount of people processed out I would say that it is working. The only ones not agreeing are Gays. I dont understand why they cannot go along with this program. They know what the rules are before they join the military, so if they cannot abide by them, DON'T JOIN.

Excluding Gays and Lesbians

Reid: Get real, gays and lesbians are banned, and have been banned in the past, but it didn't work. They still served, honorably and extensively. I think they only bothers homophobes.

No homosexuals in the military

I think the correct policy is to exclude homosexuals from the military.

Off limits . . .

I would make *all* comments about one's sex life off-limits in work spaces. That way gays will not feel excluded. Why should any of us have to listen to a blow-by-blow of someone else's conquests in our workplace? Save it for the ballgame, guys! Cheers, MGM
