Bob McDonnell looked very much like the next governor of Virginia. He outlined his future plans with ease and answered difficult questions in a statesmanlike manner. He never called his opponent ugly names nor did he lose his measured demeanor.
Hopefully, the voters of the commonwealth will elect Mr. McDonnell to governor - with him as governor, I believe we will see some action on programs that the general assembly has been unwilling to take on like transportation and oil drilling.

Where's 'none of the above'? This is another case of where it is needed. Between the two of them, it is a choice of what flavor of mud do you want in your face come voting day.

All you people that blame the past administration for the mess we're in obviously got their talking points from either Nancy Pelosi or Comrade Obama. Do yourself a favor and go back and read about Chris Dodd and Barney Frank and how they pressured the leanding industry in to making bad loans to people that had no business borrowing in the first place. I get sick and tired about hearing how George Bush is to blame. While I'm at it, I want to thank you for voting for Comrade Obama. Since he's been in office the federal deficit has tripled and it hasn't even been a year yet. As for Bob McDonnell, he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize just for being the last of a dying breed; an honest politician. Thank you Mr. McDonnell for bringing credibility back to Virginia politics.

because I am also tired of people blaming the last administration. I wasn't a fan of the last administration but he was not totally responsible for this mess. He did not stop the banks from giving bad loans. Neither did the Clinton administration. They knew all about it. There is plenty of blame to go around starting with the Carter administration to the Obama Administration. I also agree with you that people should have not got loans they could not afford. So in retrospect, the American public are responsible for some of this mess.

I read where this whole mess started when the republicans had control of the house and senate. They deregulated the banking industry and wall street and allowed them to do whatever they wanted to do.That is why we are in this mess today.Talk about the deficit we had before this president took office. You didn't lose your job or home because of the deficit then or now. If your talking point never mention it, you would never know we have a deficit. As for as Obama's election is concern, I know it hurt, but hurt on.

McDonnell spouted out the same old tired Republican hash saying we need more "de-regulation". Lack of government oversight is one of the main reasons we're in this financial mess stemming from the unregulated real estate and credit industries.

and read the top 25 people who are responsible for this mess, which starts with Bill Clinton who de-regulated the banks and allowed them to make faulty loans and start this mess. George Bush is also to blame, but what Obama is doing now will put us all back in the dark ages.

You stated: "Lack of government oversight is one of the main reasons we're in this financial mess stemming from the unregulated real estate and credit industries."
... and you can thank Chris Dodd and Barney Frank for that ... both Democrats!

Where is it?

No more bad Deeds ...
... Virginia has had enough of them within the past 4 years with the do-nothing Governor Kaine. I look forward to McDonnell as our new Governor!
Government Oversight

They refuse to believe
You are correct, sir, the whole reason we are in this economic mess was the doings of Chris Dodd & Barney Frank!
De-Regulation
McDonnell spouted out the same old tired Republican hash saying we need more "de-regulation". Lack of government oversight is one of the main reasons we're in this financial mess stemming from the unregulated real estate and credit industries.
Go back to the Time Mag report
