Posted to: Elections

Whom should Democratic Sen. Barack Obama choose as his running mate in the 2008 presidential election?

according to an article I just read

There is a good chance Hillary Clinton WILL be a nominee at the DNC. If I was there she would certainly have my vote.

hey al gore

always bridesmaid, never a bride! he he! they all ,well maybe not jc.watts i sorta like him,hey obama here's an idea, thomas sowell,he'll show you what it mean to be a true constitutionalist.now this man should have been your mentor.

Civics 101

Unfortunately (maybe fortunately) many that post don't really understand what the executive branch of government can and can't do. There are "checks and balances" among the three branches of the US Govt, but the scales tip when one party controls both the legislative AND the executive. Herein lies the rub.

Should B Hussein Obama win the White House, prepare to see every frivolous social program and spending bill fly through Congress and get signed into law by BO even faster. Think your taxes are high and spending for social programs are at odds with sanity now? Just wait. If however, there is a Dem/Rep-Congress/Pres, or even vice versa, there is some balance so that one party cannot run amok. Voting a Democratic majority to Congress balanced the scales in a recent Congressional cycle, but unless you wish to shift back to a Republican controlled Congress, you'd be a fool to ask for BO in the W

How about Colin?

My vote's for Colin Powell.

If he were to accept, it would be game, set and match for Obama. Who would like to argue Powell's credentials, except for the Iraq screw-up. I'm sure he'd be able to somehow weasel out of that one.

Hillary and Bill could go back to New York and finally get that long overdue divorce that Bill's been dreaming about.

yes Hillary

If Hillary Clinton was Obama's running mate there would be no question he would win. Clinton has million of supporters, and would seal the deal. However, if I were Clinton I'd tell him no thanks, that I would not want to be his VP. There is no rason for her to attach her wagon to to his, and when he falls flat on his face it won't be her fault.

NOT Billary

We need another Clinton in the White House as much as we need another Bush there. Granted, the other choices leave a lot to be desired, but seriously, you really want Clinton Part 2 to follow Bush Part 2? I swear I am about ready to write in Mickey Mouse - He couldn't be any worse than any of the other choices we've been given.

Not Hilary

Are kidding, Hilary again!!! I am so tired of that fool!! She lost and there is no need to have to see, hear again! I say John Edwards, but right now he has some personal issues.

O's VP

John Edwards of course. The poor little boy has no ohter place to go.

slim choices listed but

I would like to see Senator Robert Byrd as VP. talk about change wow, this would be. Plus with the Byrd Machine - OBAMA couldn't fail.
Senator BYRD is perfect.

and the winning running mate is

Hillary Clinton, who should be the Democratic nominee in the first place.
