While suturing a cut on the hand of an old Texas rancher whose hand was caught in a gate, the doctor struck up a conversation with him.
The topic got around to Obama and his bid to be President. The rancher said, "Ya know, Obama is a 'post turtle.'" The doctor asked him what a 'post turtle' was.
The old rancher said, "When you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a 'post turtle.'"
Seeing a puzzled look on the doctor's face, he continued to explain. "You know he didn't get up there by himself, he doesn't belong up there, he doesn't know what to do while he is up there, and you wonder what kind of dumb-4$$3$ put him up there."

Those that voted for George Bush the second time, after seeing what a mess he made in his first term, must be learning disabled. When faced with "more of the same McCain", let's see if they come back for a third helping!

"How can we think about electing a man whose experience is exactly one-half term in the Senate to the highest office in the land, President of the United States? Are we crazy?"
Yes some are crazy. Afterall, they elected George Bush to two terms. That's pretty crazy in my book.

Yea, the red/blue state thing is politics for idiots. It's really very similar shaded of purple anyway since the margins are usually relatively small. I never liked that it's a all or nothing electors in most states. Really they should all be one elector per house district winner and two for state wide popular vote. I think that better fits the spirit of the big state/small state compromise.

I submit to everyone that the Red/Blue States is detrimental to our perception that we are good, honest citizens of the "United" States. It seems as if our people take pride in the Red and Blue state devisiveness, while at the same time trying to cast off memories of the Blue and Gray. If we continue the current partisan politicisms, we are doomed. In the past, the United States stood for teamwork, good citizenship, good neighbors, and everyone working for the good of all. Politicians on every side, everywhere, dishonor those values. How can this ever be a great nation when we are divided at every turn and seem to rejoice in the fact? Not even disasters such as 911 and Katrina pulled us together. What will it take? I shiver thinking about the answer.

I always thought it amazing how Republicans jumped on him like a pack of dogs in South Carolina back in 2000. But...now that he's thinking the only way to get elected is to be a Bush clone, I've got to go the other way. George "Baby Doc" Bush has laid waste to this country. I was a staunch Republican during Reagan and the first term of the first Bush; but I believe the good of the nation as a whole is more important than putting on blinders and pulling the lever for John "houses, what houses?" McCain.
Post Turtle

Learning curve??

Dems lose my vote
Until yesterday I might have voted for Obama. But after selecting Biden, I think I will vote for Donald Duck.

Vote
This fall vote democrat; it's easier than working.
Shades of purple

Republican economic disaster
Four more years of Republican rule and America will be a third world country.
VA Election, Red or Blue?

Last I checked
Last I checked, Virginia doesn't vote being a state and not a human being. During the Bush/Kerry election, 1.4 million Virginians voted Democrat.
