But the two of them on the same ticket? I don't see it. I have to say though that I have been very pleased with Webb thus far, and I am happy that Allen shot himself in the foot with his own ignorant statements during his campaign. I believe Webb can better serve his country in the Senate than as VP....although Cheney has shown that VPs have more power than we think...still, I stand by what I said.

A V.P. choice has to sublimate their agenda to that of the head of the ticket.Webb would never put anyone else ahead of his own ambition.A V.P. candidate has to be able to speak coherently, and maybe even eloquently on how the nation would be better off picking the party's ticket over the other party.Webb has switched parties often enough to look a little silly trying to make the case for consistent party support.Besides which, his speeches are always boring, bombastic, and really dull, without any depth or understanding of the issues.Unless he's talking about himself, even Webb isn't interested.Nominating 'Bloviating Jim' as the V.P. is a pointless as believing a 'no higher taxes' promise from Mark(tax)Warner, the current prom queen of the democrats this year.

IMO Obama's chief flaw is that he has no experience. If elected, as he may well be, he needs someone as his political partner who has broad governmental leadership experience. That person would not be Jim Webb.
Webb as VP would put him only a heartbeat from the Presidency. That is very scary. He is much to arrogant and rude to be an effective leader in foreign relations.

Democrats always choose someone for V.P. who won't overshadow the top of the ticket. The guy whose vote is closer to Harry Reid than his BVD's couldn't overshadow warm milk intellectually or tempermentally,a perfect choice for the Obamarama express.Unfortunately, being nominated for V.P. doesn't mean he'll have to quit his day job,so what's the point? We'll just have to wait for the next election or whenever he has his next moronic temper tantrum and walks away from the federal feeding trough yet again.

No, I do not think Sen. Webb should even consider the VP offer. In his short time in the Senate he has been very effective. He has shown to be non-partison by working closely with Sen. Warner and with the Republicans in general. We need him more in his present position than as a stooge for Obama.

Neither Obama or Webb has much experience. That would be about like handing a middle-school student the CEO spot of a major company. The kid may be able to pull it off and be a huge success, but what are the odds? Does Obama have any experience for this job? If you answer that honestly, you'd say "NO". I'm really surprised at both the major party's selection for a presidential candidate. Is this the best our nation has to offer for a leader? We have truly hit rock bottom.
Well, it'd be a balance, rude hot head with a smooth talker. Webb should NOT be a vp candidate! He's not a "team" player and wants things his way or no way. IMHO

The reason why I voted no is because I don't won't Obama to drag a Virginian into the toilet if Obama took office. It's almost sure bet that if Obama is elected preident he would be the will be 2nd worst president, the #1 spot goes to Carter. People would pick on Bush in the way he speaks but Obama can't even talk in front of a crowd without a teleprompter. Not time for Webb in the white house.

Not yet. Currently I think he will serve us best in his current position. Given a number of years experience in the "wild" of DC, I think he would be a strong potential option as VP.
I'm actually a R, & voted yes in hopes that the D party will appear even further divided..Just doing my part to help to prolong things..as long as possible...lol

Jim Webb is a democrat, I am a Libertarian. Jim Webb, like all the democrats I know of, are for: higher taxes, larger government buracracies, more government control of private citizans lives and private business, less accountability for legislative failure, less proactive confrontation with threats to our country, more restrictions to domestic commerce and less restrictions to foreign imports, more supportive of dependence on foreign sources for energy and more restrictive on domestic producttion, refining and research, etc...
Each democrat elected to office, regardless of the office and the individual politicians integrity, gives support to the caucus (practices of MOB RULE, Power in Numbers).
I like Webb...I like Obama

Webb????
Worthless Webb??? You gotta be kidding! He isn't qualified to be a member of town council, much less anything else.
Webb doesn't have what it takes.

ELECTION WORRIES
This upcoming election has the worse choices in history....
The only good thing is Hillary is out of the running.
Webb would be lousy,but typical

Well if he didn't like.....
...being Vice President, he could always quit, just like everything else he has attempted!!!
team change
Air Head & Hot Head ticket for 08.
My no vote is due to experience.

Why I voted Yes
Yes 37% (124 votes)
No 55% (184 votes)
Undecided (29 votes)

Why I voted NO in the poll
I voted NO in the poll because I believe Virginia is better served with Jim Webb in the Senate.
