VIRGINIA BEACH

The amphibious ship Oak Hill is scheduled to depart Friday, March 21 from Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base.

The ship and its crew of 400 sailors will perform maritime security operations in the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf during an expected six month deployment.

The Oak Hill is capable of carrying up to 500 Marines.
