On Friday, a public viewing of the late Bishop Samuel C. Madison is scheduled at the United House of Prayer, 1811 Ivy Ave., Newport News, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Madison, who died Saturday, was the leader of the 1.5 million-member United House of Prayer for All People, which has 150 congregations, including two in Norfolk, two in Newport News, and single churches in Chesapeake, Portsmouth and Virginia Beach.
Friday's viewing will include a memorial service. A funeral is scheduled for Monday in Washington, D.C.
