Coast Guard rescues injured man from sailboat in North Carolina

NORTH CAROLINA

A Coast Guard rescue crew based in Wrightsville Beach, N.C. took an injured man from a sailboat in the Intracoastal Waterway in southern North Carolina Tuesday. 

The call came in at 12:42 p.m., according to the Coast Guard. The owner of the 28-foot sailboat Trinity radioed that he was suffering from serious burns. 

The rescue crew arrived at 1 p.m. and took the man to land, where he was taken to a hospital in Wilmington, N.C.
