Just what you've all been waiting for...Britney's new documentary - "Britney: For the Record." Right.
I'll admit it - I was channel surfing last night and got sucked into watching it. Let's face it, MTV has promoted Britney for the past 10 years, so it wasn't surprising that MTV aired an hour documentary on Brit Brit (including a countdown to the special, filled with her top 10 best moments on MTV.)
In the documentary, she says she wanted to make it so people could see the real Britney, not just tabloid Britney, as well as give the real inside scoop of her meltdowns and break-ups. Honestly though, I don't think Britney was that real, or candid. I had a hard time believing anything she said, especially when she talked about her trials and troubles. For example, she calls her life a prison while they shoot her shopping for designer dresses in a cleared out store, open just for her. Geez. Granted she has no privacy, she's followed everywhere.
But why would she want a "comeback" so badly, if she wanted out of her paparazzi-filled prison life? Anyway....this documentary is a genius publicity stunt for her new album, Circus, that debuts tomorrow on her b-day. And you won't find the documentary hitting on the touchie subjects of her mental breakdown - they avoided that like the plague. It didn't even address her hospitalizations or quirky behaviors this past year.
Here's a promo of the documentary, if you want a tease.
