“Our lotus blossoms are blooming right now,” said the email message that ended with a smiley face. It came from Sue Spry, the office assistant at Mackay Island and Currituck national wildlife refuges. Spry was speaking of the beautiful pink lotus that live in the water-filled ditch at the entrance road to the Mackay Island refuge office.
If you have been waiting all winter for the snow geese to arrive, wait no longer.
