Mailbag Archive
Plenty of mailbag questions to get to today, but first an update on the Daniel Rodriguez story. Remember the Army veteran looking to walk-on at a Division I school now that he’s finished his military obligations? Well, it looks like he’s headed to Clemson.
I haven't done a mailbag in almost two weeks, so let's fire it up for Friday. You know the drill. Send me emails with any of your Virginia Tech questions. Plenty of subjects to touch on this week: the ACC schedule, position changes, NFL combine/draft stuff, the NCAA's continued inability to put together a postseason format that doesn't stink. Feel free to ask about whatever you'd like, though.
It has been a minute since I've done an offseason mailbag. Sorry for the delay. Here's a super-sized one to make up for it. Thanks to those who wrote in and sorry if I couldn't quite get to everyone's question. Follow me on Twitter. Any words on Tech’s fall football schedule? -- Trevor
Time for another call for the offseason Virginia Tech mailbag. Here's how it works: you send me questions in emails and I'll answer them the best I can. So email me at andy.bitter@roanoke.com or andy.bitter@pilotonline.com with your questions. Be sure to leave your name and hometown so I can credit you with the query.
Lots of questions to get to in today's mailbag. But first, some recruiting quick hitters: * Brookville DT Korren Kirven is supposed to make his official visit to Blacksburg this weekend. He's down to Alabama, Tennessee, Maryland and Virginia Tech. He's the No. 7 player in the state by Rivals and the No. 206 player nationally.
I tried something new two weeks ago: asking for your questions for a bi-weekly mailbag in the offseason. This was the first result.
OK, despite a computer crash that thankfully didn't lose much of my work, I've put together the debut mailbag. I got a great reader response and couldn't quite get to all the questions. Please don't let that discourage you from writing to me in the future.
The live chats I did during the season went fairly well, particularly the post-Sugar Bowl one, which had over 2,000 readers. But those usually work best right before or after a major event. In the offseason, other than signing day, the start of spring football or the spring game, that doesn't happen too often.
