Spring drills begin tonight, when the Hokies take to the practice fields at 6:45 p.m. (sorry, it's closed to the public, although we writers get to see a few periods of action). I'll have something up later tonight recapping Virginia Tech's first day out there.

Virginia Tech already planned to shuffle around its secondary before James Farrow decided to transfer late last month. Now, the Hokies have come up a new plan.
Virginia Tech football coach Frank Beamer's literary foundation and a national non-profit organization will provide 32,000 new books to kids from low-income families across the state. Beamer's foundation, Herma’s Readers, will undertake the project in conjunction with First Book, a national non-pofit that provides books to kids in need. Follow me on Twitter.
It might not be official from Virginia Tech's side, but all indications are that redshirt freshman cornerback James Farrow will transfer. Scout.com first reported the news yesterday and Farrow tweeted it last night.
