Admirals lose after giving up three late goals

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.

The Norfolk Admirals couldn’t make a late lead stick Sunday, giving up three third-period goals in losing 4-2 to Springfield.

The Falcons went up 1-0 on a first-period power-play goal by Matt Calvert. With one Admiral in the penalty box and another about to join him on a delayed penalty, Springfield pulled goalie Paul Dainton to get a six-on-four advantage.

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. Trevor Smith tied a career-high with four points, collecting two goals and two assists in the Norfolk Admirals’ 6-1 victory over Springfield on Saturday night at the MassMutual Center.

Evan Oberg had a goal and two assists and Dustin Tokarski made 32 saves for his 19th victory in goal for the Admirals (27-17-1-2).

HARTFORD, CONN. Richard Panik's goal in the 10th round of a shootout Saturday night lifted the Norfolk Admirals to a 5-4 victory over the Connecticut Whale. Mike Koska also scored in the shootout for Norfolk. The Whale opened the shootout with Erik Christensen's goal, then was shut out in the following nine rounds.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. The Syracuse Crunch scored six goals in the first two periods and cruised to a 6-3 win over the Norfolk Admirals on Friday night. Norfolk tallied all its goals in the third period. Captain Mike Angelidis scored twice and Richard Panik scored once.

ALBANY, N.Y. Mike Angelidis' goal late in the second period completed a comeback from a two-goal deficit as the Norfolk Admirals defeated the Albany Devils 5-4 on Wednesday night. Matt Fornataro, Evan Oberg, Mark Barberio and Michel Ouellet also scored for the Admirals, who trailed 3-1 before scoring four times in the second period.
