		 EDENTON - Dwayne Goodwin outpaced Rhonda Copeland on Tuesday in the race to take over for retiring Chowan County Sheriff Fred Spruill. Goodwin, an investigator in the Sheriff&#039;s Office, collected 1,656 votes to Copeland&#039;s 539 in the Democratic primary, according to unofficial results from the Chowan County Board of Elections.There are no Republican candidates in the sheriff&#039;s race, but Goodwin could still face an unaffiliated candidate if one petitions by the end of June to be on the November ballot.Goodwin . . .&lt;/p&gt;
