Coast Guard continues search for missing Canadian sailor

PORTSMOUTH

The Coast Guard continued searching for a missing Canadian sailor today.

The sailor, 67-year-old Hubert Marcoux, was scheduled to arrive in Bermuda by Monday, but never arrived, according to a news release from the Coast Guard's Portsmouth office. He was sailing his 45-foot boat, the Mon Pays, there from Halifax, Nova Scotia. He left Nov. 9.

Two swine flu deaths bring Virginia total to 29

Virginia health officials have confirmed two more swine-flu-related deaths, one of whom was a Virginia Beach man. The Beach death and another of a man from the Thomas Jefferson health district bring to 29 the number of statewide deaths in people confirmed with having the H1N1 flu, or swine flu.

NEWPORT NEWS Two men wearing masks robbed the BayPort Credit Union at 80th Street and Marshall Avenue on Friday morning, police said. Police later arrested one suspect.

One man had a gun. They approached a teller and demanded money, then ran east on 81st Street.
