Water polo has been a fish out of water in Hampton Roads.
The Beach Parks and Recreation wants to change that by forging a path for the sport by offering "Water Polo Nights."

Turtle is reminder of trash dangers to wildlife

Earth Club students from First Colonial High School constructed an artificial turtle as a learning tool for visitors to First Landing State Park.
Club members presented the turtle to the park's Chesapeake Bay Center.
It depicts the dangers of trash, like balloons and plastic products, thrown in the water that can choke wildlife.

Shad roe, perhaps accompanied by fresh asparagus and new potatoes, has been one of the finest spring meals in this area for years, often served in place of Easter ham or lamb.

Snuffleupagus poked his whiskered snout out of the portable crate and looked tentatively at the crowd. After a few suspenseful moments, young Snuffles made a beeline for the ocean.
The male harp seal was released at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Landing State Park, after a month-long rehabilitation from a broken jaw.

Rob Hoose and Wanda Robinson discovered that when they took first place in male and female categories in the Biggest Loser Contest at Flex Gym. At the final weigh-in on March 16, results showed that Hoose lost 43.4 pounds while Robinson shed 24.
