Va. Tech students post school documents about mass shooting

BLACKSBURG A handful of Virginia Tech students have posted about 6,000 pages of documents online that chronicle the mass shootings on campus. Computer engineering student Justin Harrison led the effort to post the documents released by the university through a Freedom of Information Act request. He says he wanted everyone to be able to read for themselves what happened on April 16, 2007.

The meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, which concerns some families who have to work the next day. It follows by one day a meeting with the injured and their families.

No one can blame Virginia Tech officials for wanting to put the horror of April 16, 2007, behind them. And no one - no sane person, anyway - could blame administrators there for failing to predict that a troubled kid would morph into a raging homicidal maniac who would fatally shoot 32 people and then kill himself. It was simply beyond imagining.
